The Sacrament of Confirmation empowers us to be messengers for Christ by giving us the Gifts of the Spirit. Those who are confirmed are set forth on a mission to live a life of faith and service to all as members of the Church throughout the world.  One of the most commonly known aspects of this sacrament is the taking of a Confirmation Name, often one of a Saint whose life we are setting out to imitate.  In the Diocese of Paterson, Confirmation typically takes place during the sophomore year of high school (around age 16).  An extensive two year program is available to those preparing to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation which involves catechesis, service, and more.
