The Church is always calling some to the vocation of the priesthood or religious life. Serving as a priest for Jesus Christ is both a sacrifice and a joy. Much like the earliest followers of Jesus, part of the ordination rite includes the laying on of hands by the Bishop. This replicates the earliest commisioning we read about in the Acts of the Apostles. There are several other ministries that can be part of the vocational call. They include the diaconate- part of Holy Orders, religious life- men and women dedicated to a specific purpose, religious sisters, and many more. For more information on vocations to the priesthood or other forms of religious life, please contact Fr. Lem in the Parish Office or visit the Vocations Webpage for the Diocese of Paterson.
