What is OCIA?

The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is now called OCIA and is a process established for the universal Church for individuals to become Catholic and receive the sacraments of initiation –Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist.

 
Whom is OCIA for?      

• Anyone interested in learning more about the Catholic faith.
• Persons in need of Baptism.
• Persons baptized in another Christian tradition who desire to become Catholic.
• Persons baptized Catholic in need of First Communion and Confirmation.

 
How does a person who is interested begin?

We begin with the period of Inquiry. During this period, we collect a copy of Birth and Baptismal Certificates. Also, questions and answers about the Catholic Faith in order to accompany the "Inquirer" on a pilgrimage of faith.
